In the night from Saturday to Sunday, Wladimir Klitschko and Anthony Joshua had megafit at Wembley.
The battle of two Olympic Champions gave the world a new hegemon heavyweight title – Joshua in a spectacular fight early dealt with the 41-year-old Ukrainian veteran and has established itself as the leader of the division.
Wladimir Klitschko: “I would like to be a winner, but Joshua did the job perfectly. He was focused, came back after a knockdown. Maybe I could do more after he fell. I thought Joshua did not rise, but he stood up.
Of course, the contract we have spelled out the possibility of revenge. But I need to start to analyze what the hell happened. I wanted to raise my hand up as the winner, but instead lost for the second fight in a row.”
Anthony Joshua: “What can I say? 19-0, three-and-a-half years in Boxing. I am not perfect but fight, but if you don’t try, you lose. As is customary in Boxing, you need to leave your ego at the door and respect your opponent.
My great respect to Vladimir Klitschko. He’s a model in the sport and outside it, and nothing but love and respect I have for him do not. London, Ukraine, Germany — thank you, I love you.”
Both fighters for the fight at Wembley to earn at least £ 10 million. An added bonus for Klitschko and Joshua will be a percentage of sales of PPV on the TV channel “Sky Sports”.
