The mayor of Kiev Vitali Klitschko signed a cooperation agreement with a Chinese consortium for the construction of the fourth metro line to Troyeshchyna. This is stated on the official website of Klitschko in Facebook.
“Vitali Klitschko and Chairman of China Pacific Construction Group, the UIN has signed a cooperation agreement for the implementation of the project on construction of the fourth subway line in Kyiv between KCSA and the Chinese consortium which included China Railway International Group Co., Ltd. and China Pacific Construction Group with China Railway International Group Co., Ltd”, – stated in the message.
The agreement provides for the establishment of a working group of Ukrainian and Chinese professionals which will develop the optimum technical and financial solutions for implementation of the project.
The cost of construction is estimated at $2 billion, with 85% of the projected cost of the project will be provided through loans from Chinese financial institutions. The repayment period is from 15 to 20 years. The interest rate will be negotiated.
Recall that the fourth line of the Kyiv subway will have a length of 18 km and will run from the airport “Kiev” (Juliani) to the residential area Troyeshchyna. Its length will be 13 stations.
Note that Chinese is not the first investors that pledge to invest in the construction of metro troyeschina. In 2012, for example, for this purpose was ready to allocate money to Vnesheconombank of Russia. However, because of the political turmoil then this project fell through.
