The foreign Minister said that Hungary is not understood correctly in Ukraine adopted the law.
In Hungary, “someone deliberately spins the political hysteria” around the adopted Ukrainian educational law, however, Kiev is counting on the dialogue. The Minister of foreign Affairs Pavlo Klimkin said during the opening of “the stars of Heaven Hundreds” in Strasbourg.
“I appealed to the EU to their colleagues, Ministers of foreign Affairs. Because Hungary wants to discuss it on Monday at a meeting of the Council of foreign Ministers of the EU, explained them our arguments, which is generally supported. Tomorrow I will speak in Hungary. Speak, or we work with an abstract mythology and say that no schools will be studied Hungarian (that is a total myth) that closed in Uzhgorod universities (which is a total myth) that will leave some teachers. Ask Lily Grinevich, all this is total insanity,” said the Minister.
He stressed that October 12 will explain Hungary details of the law.
“Tomorrow I will speak with the Minister, then I will have a chance to say this at the press conference, and I hope that there will be many Hungarian not only Hungarian channels, and then another with Hungarian journalists, and tell them how it really is. Or do we have a dialogue, I hope that it will be tomorrow, or we will continue to promote and play tap and virtual reality”, – said Klimkin.
He also recalled that on October 19 in Ukraine should arrive the Minister of education of Hungary to discuss and implement provisions of the law on languages.
Earlier it was reported that Hungary demanded a revision of the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU because of the education act.
Recall, 28 September in Ukraine came into force the law on education. In the seventh article deals with the language learning, including representatives of national minorities.
Against the law cautioned Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Russia and Moldavia.
In particular, the Hungarian government decided to block all further decisions of the European Union towards a rapprochement of the EU with Ukraine. However, the permanent representative of Ukraine to the Council of Europe Dmitry Kuleba said that the position of Hungary will not affect the rating of the Council of Europe.
Foreign Minister Klimkin said that the language edit of the education act does not limit the rights of national minorities and Ukraine is working to ensure that citizens of Hungarian origin feel as comfortable as possible.
