Residents of the capital have urged the Metropolitan government to open the city’s free ice skating.
Kiev registered the petition on the website of the Kyiv city Council with a request to restore the tradition of decorating the city’s free ice skating rinks.
“For many years in parks, stadiums and squares of Kiev every winter flooded rinks. Even in the hard and hungry years (e.g. post-war) the city authorities were worried about the organization of healthy leisure activities for children and young people.
Now a lot of squares and streets given over to trade. Offer the city authorities to direct a little attention to the organization of places of healthy recreation for our children, arranging in those few places that are still not occupied and kebab eateries, free rinks, which will delight the youth in the winter months,” reads the petition text.
