Insomnia destroys the brain.
Even one sleepless night is enough for the beginning dangerous for the brain pathological processes.
Scientists from the University of Washington in the course of experiments with the participation of 17 volunteers aged 35 to 65 years found that just one sleepless night increases by 10% the level of beta-amyloid proteins in the body. The accumulation of these proteins in the brain accompany the development of dementia and are one of the main distinguishing symptoms of this incurable disease.
The experiments also showed that one week without proper sleep enough to raise the level of Tau-proteins, which are also found in the body of the victims of Alzheimer’s disease in high concentrations. According to scientists, during deep sleep the normal hours of a brain gets rid of these proteins, but sleep disorders, they remain in the body.
