Film by Paul Verhoeven “starship troopers” (Starship Troopers) at the time was not lucky to get in the car at the same time with “Titanic”, which set records of box office and hungrily devoured the money of the audience, without giving a chance to competitors. This did not prevent the “Landing” to win an army of fans, but the future of the franchise affected negatively. The film received several sequels, but they were all so sad, and not want to remember.
It seemed that the series is dead, the troops retired, and beetles from the planet of Klendathu can sleep peacefully. But not long ago, the franchise began to migrate in the direction of the animation. The first was the Sino-American project “starship troopers: Invasion”, and now the booming voice of johnny Rico in the performance of Casper van Dean, the stars of the original picture. All because on the horizon looms the CGI film “starship troopers: Martian traitor” (Starship Troopers: Traitor of Mars).
Johnny Rico demoted and reassigned to the Martian satellite station, while the Federation is planning the final attack on the homeworld of beetles and pulls back forces of the fleet. But very soon Rico finds out that at the same time, the beetles prepare a secret invasion of Mars. Now he, along with detachments of recruits will take the attack to save the planet, devoid of the protection of the space fleet.
About the project we already wrote: in particular, last month a colleague Parfenov laid out a vigorous trailer. But trailers never too much, so meet another one! Space, bloody war, the people vs bugs, the animated johnny Rico and dizzy Flores with the voices of the actors from the original movie (Dina Meyer also returned to his role) – well, cool.
“Starship troopers: Martian traitor” will show in theaters for one day only: on 21 August. And then in the United States. But already a day later it will be released digitally a month later on DVD and Blu-Ray.
