John carpenter: “Pay me if you want to make a remake of my film!”

A living icon of the genre Director, writer and composer John carpenter has given an interview with The Guardian. The reason for the meeting was the imminent release of a new music album of the wizard “Anthology: Movie Themes 1974-1998”, but of course it was not just about music.

I like it, if they’re going to pay me. If they pay, that’s wonderful. If you don’t pay, I don’t care. I think it’s not fair if I don’t get paid. I think everybody needs to pay me. Why not? I am now old and I need money. Send me the money.

Funny, but John believes that if his directorial career began in our days, then it wouldn’t have worked.

I started [in those days], when you could actually remove the operating film, ekspluatatsionny low-budget film – and it would be released in movie (…) if I Could succeed if I started today? Probably not. I would be rejected.

About horror movies:

There are many different. Horror movies moderniziriruyutsya along with our culture, “Away”, for example. Some genres may die, but I don’t think horror will ever die.
