Rowling will be engaged in the boarding schools of Zhytomyr.
Charitable Foundation of the famous writer, the author of the iconic “Harry Potter” Joanne Rowling “Lumos” will the reformation of boarding schools for children from disadvantaged families and orphans in Zhytomyr region.
The Fund will provide boarding schools of Zhytomyr oblast technical, expert and methodological assistance in the implementation of a pilot project to promote the cessation of institutionalizing children. That is, the projects will be implemented to support families in crisis to reduce the number of failures from the child, and measures to return children to their families.
Before the British Foundation has been working with Bulgaria and Moldova. Today in these countries is already almost completely gone boarding. Now the “Lumos” is planning to help Ukraine with the reform of deinstitutionalization.
To coordinate a pilot project in Zhytomyr region will be the national office for the reform of deinstitutionalization under the Commissioner of the President of Ukraine on the rights of the child.
