The plane Elvis Presley was put up for auction.
Elvis Presley loved colorful life luxury and comfort. In his personal fleet was three pink Cadillac and three luxurious aircraft made specifically in accordance with the wishes of “the king of rock-n-roll”. In may this year, one of these aircraft was put up for auction, and, according to forecasts, its price was to be from two to three and a half million dollars. However, the reality turned out differently.
One of the planes owned by Elvis and his father Vernon Presley, was produced by Lockheed Jetstar in 1962. More than 35 years after the death of the singer’s plane was on display in one of the private museums in the state of new Mexico and served as a tourist attraction.
In the cabin everything has been preserved in the form in which it was when Elvis: pink velvet chairs and red carpet, the floor is wooden parquet. The plane is still perfectly preserved, if desired, it is possible to restore and make millions.
In the period from 1957 to 1978 total produced 204 such aircraft. Before the auction the company GWS Auctions estimated the aircraft at least two million dollars, but the auction results were completely unexpected. Lot went under the hammer in just over 430 thousand dollars.
