From 1 January you must obtain a new type of law.

It became known that the Ukrainian driving license will cease to “work” on the territory of the European Union.

Thus, the press service of the interior Ministry reminded that Ukraine in November of 2017 must complete implementation of EU directives that relate to a driver’s license.

Under current law, January 1, 2018, the “international” driver’s license will cease to operate in the EU.

The head of the main service centre of the Ministry of internal Affairs of Ukraine Vladislav Crickley noted that the Ukrainian drivers with a perpetual identity today from time to time are not allowed in the EU, and from 1 January 2018 the rights will be void.

He explained that in order to get a driver’s license of the new sample, you only need to pass a medical examination, to retake the examination on knowledge of traffic rules is not necessary.

The cost of the new driving licences with a chip will amount to UAH 201. New rights will be issued to a maximum of 15 years. For truck drivers this period will be reduced to 5 years.

In addition, the medical examination of drivers of trucks and buses will be more frequent and more carefully. Strict rules of passing the examination provided for drivers aged 50 years — they will have to take it every three or five years.
