According to media reports, previously, scientists have explained the origin of ocean tides, relying exclusively on the gravity of the moon to the Earth.

Now they came to the conclusion that this can stand and the Sun.

According to scientists, the Sun also affects the tides, responding in approximately one third of this phenomenon. Thus, when the gravity of the Sun counteracts the moon, it causes lower tides.

In that case, if the Sun approaches the moon, the tides become large.
