It became known that IKEA intends to come to Ukraine

Klitschko confirmed the interest of the capital for the arrival of the Swedes.

Swedish retailer IKEA is exploring options business model for entering the Kiev market in a year or two.

This was reported by the press service of the Kyiv city administration with reference to the development Manager at IKEA southeastern Europe Vladislav Lalic. On Tuesday, 19 December, he discussed this issue with the mayor of Kiev Vitali Klitschko.

“We’re going to Ukraine with a vision to create a better everyday life for the many people. Our company offers a wide selection of affordable home goods in response to high demand from consumers”, – quotes the press service of the Swedish company’s sales Manager, IKEA South-East Europe (the company, which will operate on the Ukrainian market) Stephen Vanoverbeke.

Klitschko, in turn, said that the Ukrainians are waiting for IKEA, and now purchase goods Swedish company. Only it is done through intermediaries who deliver products from shops in neighbouring countries. The mayor said that the city authorities are interested in the advent of IKEA, and expressed hope that parties will manage to agree in the short term.

Recall, IKEA has provided a franchise for Ukraine, but the exact date for the opening of the first store yet.
