Penalties drivers who violate the rules will be increased to 40 thousand hryvnias.
The Verkhovna Rada registered a draft law of the Cabinet of Ministers, which suggests a significant increase in fines for violation of traffic rules. The document published on the Parliament website.
So, for exceeding the maximum allowed speed in settlements component of 50 km/h proposed a fine of 3,400 hryvnia, and not 510 hryvnia as before.
If the driver got in an accident and left the scene, the penalty will increase from 255 to 3 400 hryvnias. An alternative punishment shall be determined disqualification from driving for 6 months.
For driving by persons without a driver’s license, I propose to increase the penalty from 10 up to 510 UAH 200. If the person in the course of a year commit this violation again, it will require 40 800 hryvnia.
For the accident in an alcohol intoxication, entailed death of the person or caused serious bodily injury, the government proposes to punish with imprisonment for the term from 4 till 10 years with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for a period of 5 to 8 years.
If such an accident resulted in the death of several persons – imprisonment for the term from 7 till 12 years with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for a period of 5 to 10 years.
Earlier the Minister of internal Affairs Arsen Avakov has proposed to reduce the period of validity of a driver’s license from 30 to 2 years.
