It became known how many Ukrainians received the status of refugee in Poland

He was provided for 56 of the citizens of Ukraine

In 2017, approximately 625 citizens of Ukraine appealed to the Office for foreigners of Poland to grant them international protection. It is reported by the Ukrainian Embassy in Poland.

“According to official information of the office for foreigners of Poland, during January-October of 2017, the Administration has asked 625 citizens of Ukraine with a request to provide them with international protection. In 2016, such appeals were 1306, which indicates the decrease of this category of persons is almost twice”, – stated in the message.

Within 10 months of 2017, the competent authorities of Poland has granted refugee status to 56 the citizens of Ukraine (in 2016 – 32) and accepted 175 of giving the Ukrainians the status of a person in need of complementary protection (in 2016 year, there were 64 such decisions).

Thus, as of July 1, 2017 genuine residence permit in Poland had more than 128 thousand of citizens of Ukraine (among them 79 people had refugee status).

In the first half of 2017, citizens of Ukraine issued more than 92 thousand of work permits of different types. For comparison, in 2016, the Ukrainians received about 103 thousand work permits, and for the first half of 2016 – more than 42 thousand permits, indicating the growth of this indicator in the current year by almost half.

At the same time, the diplomatic/consular offices of the Republic of Poland for the first 9 months of 2017 and more than 988 thousand visas (Schengen and national). Compared to the same period in 2016 the number of visas issued remained almost unchanged, however the number of issued national visas type D (employment, training, family reunification) in 2017 increased 1.5 times.

Recall that Poland is one of the most popular countries among Ukrainian migrants. In the beginning of the year an unprecedented response caused the statement of Prime Minister of Poland Beata Szydlo in the European Parliament that the country welcomed more than 1 million refugees from Ukraine, which “no one wanted to help.”

According to research company Research & Branding Group, in December 2016 34% of the population were ready to leave Ukraine, not ready for such a step – 55% of Ukrainians. In comparison with February 2015 immigration sentiment increased by 6%.
