Jingle Bells — American Christmas song written by James Lord Pierpont in 1897 and was officially registered under the title One Horse Open Sleigh on September 16, 1858. This song has been translated into many languages of the world and of particular popularity she gained in the 1940-ies, due to the execution of B. Crosby.
Modern melody is significantly different from the first original. And recently it became known that One Horse Open Sleigh was written by a completely different holiday – Thanksgiving. Later, thanks to the lyrics of the song, which tells about winter fun and the pranks, the song was used in anticipation of the Christmas holidays. Not the last role was played and the lyrics, which refer to sledding. In addition, in the second verse mentioned some Fanny bright, which indicates the romantic nature of the song.
There is speculation that the song was originally planned for the school matinees, but historians who have studied the origin of the famous song, say that originally the song was supposed to use at parties, because the text sounds rather frivolous.
According to information published on the portal History.com that Jingle Bells was the first song, which sounded from space in 1965. In November 2017, musician and sound-engineer Lord Vinheteiro published a video, which was played on the piano a selection of traditional Christmas tunes, written from the XVI to the XXI century. Among others, he also sang Jingle Bells.
