The Israeli defense Ministry held in Alaska successful test of the Hetz missile-3 to intercept ballistic missiles outside the atmosphere.
The tests were conducted on Kodiak island, since not all features can be tested in Israel. 10 days of tests, the system made three successful intercept targets, writes the Jerusalem Post.
In the tests were involved in the American missile defense radar AN-TPY2.
Missile Hetz-3 is being developed by Israel along with the Boeing Corporation, with the financial support of the United States. The system is designed to intercept targets in a vacuum at a distance of 400-2500 km and an altitude of 100 km and is regarded by Jerusalem as a measure of missile defense against potential strikes from Iran and Syria.
