Islamists attacked a military base in Somalia, killing 10 soldiers

Terrorist group “Al-Shabab” blew up the car, and then attacked a military base in the Somali town of Balad, Havo.

According to Musab, the attack were killed 24 soldiers, however, Somali authorities said about 10 dead.

In turn, the mayor of Balad, Hawaa Mohamed Abdoulaye said that were killed seven militants. However, he noted that the number of dead on both sides may increase.

Local residents reported that the shooting continued. Thus, according to one of them, the militants “Al-Shabab” seized the military base, police station and most of the city and two military vehicles.

Al-Shabab” (“Youth Mujahideen movement”) is a radical Islamist group operating in Somalia and beyond its borders, an ally of the terrorist organization “al-Qaeda”.
