The fortress Por-Bazhyn (in Tuvan- “the clay house”) on lake Tere-Khol was built in the mid-eighth century at the order of the head of the Uighur Khagan Eletmish bilge-Kagan. In 750 he came with the troops on the territory of Tuva with the purpose of capturing it. In order to gain a foothold in the conquered territories, he built a fortress.
