Iraqi authorities executed by hanging 42 militants, who were accused of involvement in terrorism. As reports Reuters, citing Iraqi Ministry of justice, the execution occurred on the same day – Sunday, September 24.
A mass execution occurred in the prison in the city of Nasiriyah. On the procedure of execution of punishment was allowed, the relatives of convicted terrorists. All those executed have been Sunni Muslims.
In turn, the defenders of the organization Amnesty International criticized the actions of the Iraqi authorities. “The Iraqi authorities must acknowledge that executions are not the answer to terrorism and make the lives of citizens in the country more secure,” said Amnesty.
