Into space successfully launched Iranian satellite rocket
“Iranian state television described the launch involving missiles “Simorg” capable of carrying a satellite weighing 250 pounds.”
The launch vehicle marked the opening of the spaceport named Khomeini, leader of the Islamic revolution of 1979. The name “Simorgh” means “Phoenix” in Farsi.
In the past decade, the country put into orbit several satellites fictitious, and in 2013 was sent to the space monkey. From sending people of Iran refused due to too high of a startup cost.
