Inglorious future of Ukraine: how to kill the Kharkov tank factory

Reputation is one of the most important assets of any enterprise. But it’s one thing to not do anything to increase it, and the other to increase, or at least not to destroy. As example, lead HZTM – the once glorious Kharkiv Malyshev plant – even some 25 years ago, his name resounded all over the world. In all corners of the earth may know, despite the absolute secrecy that each new product manufactured at the plant, there will be multiple items with the prefix “first in the world.”

But the plant was Ukraine, which after the collapse of the Soviet Union almost managed to destroy the glorious enterprise, however, as many others from the list of the military-industrial complex of the country. But, perhaps, stop at the Kharkov transport engineering plant named after Malyshev.

T-34

The first tank in the world, bringing together the diesel engine, sloped armor and long-barreled gun. The machine was characterized by high adaptability, therefore, was manufactured in huge quantities. German troops, capturing a large number of tanks in the initial period of war, willingly fought for them, speaking about Soviet armored car with great respect. T-34 tank is the most famous Soviet tank and one of the most recognizable symbols of the victory of the USSR over Nazism. In addition, he was recognized as the best tank of the Second world war.

T-55

The first tank equipped with system of anti-nuclear protection and is able to conduct operations in the field of the use of weapons of mass destruction. Fighting machine called Kalashnikov among tanks because of the ease, simplicity and high maintainability.

T-64

Developed almost half a century ago the T-64 so far (after modification) serve in the armed forces. According to the Ukrainian data, in the course of the war in the Donbass APU lost more than 300 tanks T-64 captured and destroyed. According to militia, during the first six months of the fighting they were hit about 450 tanks.

There is no future

Yes, in Soviet times, the plant had a high reputation in the world. But, unfortunately, the key word in that sentence “had”, as the current situation in the Ukraine can not even hope that the company will create something even remotely resembling those military vehicles that were produced in Kharkov in the Soviet Union.

Today from the glorious design Bureau, where at the time wanted to get the best of the best, massively dismissed experts. They are looking for a job abroad, because today the demand for professional engineers and designers , who have the experience of Soviet education and renowned design school, is quite large. Most likely, if Ukraine will continue to move towards Europe, nobody and never in the world will not hear about the Kharkov transport engineering plant named after Malyshev, and will not see new products famous enterprise.
