Infiniti showed the precursor to a large crossover

Infiniti has revealed the design of the precursor to a new generation QX80.

Infiniti has published the first images of the concept called the QX80 Monograph. The public debut of the novelty will take place at the motor show in new York. Large crossover in the future will be the production version. First the novelty will be intended for the markets of China and the United States.

“QX80 Monograph shows our concept of luxury and style on the road, and is a study of how we could improve the future of Infiniti in the luxury SUV segment,” said company President Roland Kruger.

The concept was created by specialists of the design Bureau brand in Atsugi, Japan. From the current generation of prototype features a new grille, different hood and led optics. All technical specs are still kept secret.

The current generation of the SUV is equipped with a 5.6-litre petrol V8 engine. The capacity of the unit is 400 horsepower. The motor works together with a seven-speed automatic transmission. To 100 km/h the car accelerates in 6.5 seconds. In Russia, the price of this model starts from 4 170 000.

Another immediate premiere of the Infiniti will be the production version of the crossover QX50. The public debut of this model will be at the Frankfurt motor show in September this year. The machine should begin next year. The main competitor of the crossover will be BMW X3.
