The Central government of India is considering creating its own cryptocurrency similar to bitcoin. It is reported by UNN with reference to Business Standard.
Sources close to the development process stated that the proposal is being discussed by the government Committee and the group sees value in the idea of creating and using the blockchain for financial services.
Provided that if the decision is made, the cryptocurrency will be the responsibility of the Reserve Bank of India and can be amended to certain laws, so this process will take time.
Sources also said that the government of India can call its cryptocurrency “Lakshmi”.
As noted, the ability to create their own cryptocurrency considering China, Russia and Estonia.
