In Vienna, there were mass protests

People protested against participation in the government of the far right.

In protest against the possible participation in the Austrian government of the far-right freedom Party of thousands of people gathered in Central Vienna on Wednesday evening.

With candles, electric lamps and torches, they formed a fiery chain around the government quarter.

People believe that the extreme right should not receive Ministerial portfolios in the government of Sebastian Kurz. According to demonstrators, they are opposed to specific individuals of the Austrian Freedom party because of their ties with right-wing extremists.

Data on the number of participants vary. Organizers say about 8-10 thousand people, while police estimated at about 3 thousand. The demonstration passed without incident.

We will remind, by results of elections, the Austrian people’s party, led by Sebastian Kurz won with 31.5% of votes. – Right freedom Party finished in third place, showing one of the best results in its history – 26%.
