In the capital of Austria, government district will protect the wall

The historic square Ballhausplatz in the centre of the Austrian capital will protect the concrete wall, 80 centimeters high and one meter wide.

The square is also located the administration building of the Chancellor and President of Austria.

On the idea of security, wall fenced off the government quarter, from potential terrorist attacks. Given that in recent years criminals are increasingly resorting to the use of cars to commit terrorist acts, this seems logical.

In addition, some pedestrian streets it is planned to install special posts. The interior Ministry of Austria is planning to complete construction work on the security in the town centre to the onset of winter.

“The wall will become a precaution within the framework of measures to ensure the protection of the government quarter,” – said the Agency.
