In Ukrainian banks noticed suspicious transactions

The NBU monitors suspicious financial activities of Bank customers.

The national Bank of Ukraine (NBU) in January-September of 2017 was sent to law enforcement agencies 28 letters with information about suspicious transactions of clients 36 banks for the total amount of 67.5 billion, or 16 billion and EUR 10 million. About it reports a press-service of the NBU.

We are talking about financial transactions, the nature or the consequences of which gives the NBU reason to believe that they can be associated with the withdrawal of capital, legalization of criminal revenues, the transfer of non-cash assets into cash, with implementation of fictitious entrepreneurship, tax evasion.

The total amount of suspicious financial transactions, information of which was sent to law enforcement within nine months of 2017, more than 30 times the amount of transactions reported during the same period of 2016.

We will remind, earlier the management Board of the NBU has relaxed foreign exchange restrictions. So, the regulator is allowed to carry out on the basis of individual license of the NBU for the purchase and transfer of foreign currency for placement outside of Ukraine of the security Deposit in the accounts of international payment systems.

As reported, the NBU counted six troubled banks in Ukraine – the financial institution fulfilled all the requirements on capital increase. Under current requirements, the minimum share capital of 200 million UAH banks had to have to 11 July 2017, and raise it to 300 million UAH by 11 July 2018. However, the NBU may change the schedule of capitalization. New proposals are now agreed with the IMF.
