In Ukraine the total amount of debt on salary payment in October of the current year decreased by 0.4%. However, since the beginning of the year, this indicator grew by 37,2% and 1 November 2017 amounted to 2,458 billion UAH, reported on the official website of the State statistics service.
As noted, in October the amount of arrears of wages of economically active enterprises decreased by 0.7% and by 1 November of the current year amounted to 1.333 billion.
The wage arrears in October fell to Dnipropetrovsk (21.9%), Kherson (by 16.1%), Chernihiv (9.2%), Chernivtsi (by 7.5%), Kirovohrad and Kharkiv (5.0%), Odessa (3.8%), Vinnytsia (by 3.0%), Rivne (by 2.0%) regions and Kyiv (2.5%).
The Agency also notes the growth of wage arrears. Last month it was recorded in the Transcarpathian (2.2%), Cherkasy (by 28.4%), Volyn (19.3%), Kyiv (9.2%), Ivano-Frankivsk (7.6%), Zaporizhzhya (7.5%), Sumy (5.7%), Zhytomyr (by 3.7%).
By early November, more than three-quarters of the amount of the debt of economically active enterprises accounted for the industry (77,6%). With almost half the amount of debt formed in Donetsk (30,0%) and Luhansk (16,0%) regions.
In October 2017, the arrears of wages increased in education – 56.9% (up to UAH 8.5 million), arts, sports, entertainment and recreation – 2 times to 2.09 million, public administration and defence, compulsory social insurance – 13.7% – 5.7 million UAH, financial and insurance sector – by 8.7% to 21.0 million UAH, wholesale and retail trade – 6.4% – to 17,6 million UAH, in the area of administrative and support services – 8% up to 8.5 million UAH, information and telecommunications – 5.9% – up to 6.4 million UAH, agriculture – by 5.7% to 17,8 million UAH, temporary accommodation and food – 4.9% – 3.0 million.
This reduction of wage arrears was observed in professional, scientific and technical activities – by 6.6% to an increase of 113.6 million UAH, health – 2.5% – to UAH 36.6 million, providing other types of services – by 14.9% to 0.31 million, operations with real estate – 1.7% – up to 47,96 million UAH, industry – by 0.5% – 1,889 billion, transport, warehousing, postal and courier activities – 0.4% – 189,7 million.
