The Cabinet proposes to tighten the rules on import of cars from Europe.
The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine proposes that private vehicles temporarily imported into Ukraine for more than 90 days, within 10 working days subject to state registration without changing the registration documents and license plates of the country of registration.
The relevant paragraph is contained in the concluding and transitional provisions of the bill strengthening responsibility for violation of traffic rules (No. 7286), introduced by the government and registered in the Verkhovna Rada on 14 November. The procedure of registration of such vehicles will be determined by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.
“Previously, non – resident – “camel” – for$ 100 show at customs, the person alleged to imports cars “on the plates”, and after the customs clearance took to himself in Poland or Lithuania. Now he will be obliged after registration to go to the place of residence of the Ukrainian driver, who ordered the firm temporary import of the car, and put it on the account in the local STS, the Ministry of internal Affairs”, – says Director General of the Ukrainian Association avtoimporterov and dealers Oleg Nazarenko on his page in Facebook.
According to him, the order of registration can be envisaged, in particular, that the Ukrainians will have to provide a statement of their consent to register a car for nonresident alien at their place of residence. “Thus, the question where to find the car “buckles” in case of accident”, – said Nazarenko. In addition, the car must be insured in Ukraine at the time of his stay in the country. It is also creating a registry of registered cars in foreign rooms.
“It turns out that all the owners of the cars “on the buckles” after the adoption of the law will be obliged to find either that the non-resident alien who previously imported their car and to persuade him to go to a local Service center of the Ministry of interior to register or to take this car for a demolition” – sums up the Director General of VAAID.
As reported, citing data from the GFS, as of November 1, 2017 on the territory of Ukraine is more 383,3 thousand vehicles with foreign registration, including deadline – almost 236,6 thousand cars in January-October Ukraine imported 865 thousand cars with foreign registration, including 681,6 thousand cars imported in the mode of “transit” and almost 183,4 thousand – in the mode of “temporary import”.

We wrote that from the beginning of the year stole almost 300 cars on the “EuroBLECH”.
And the Ukrainian was fined 3.3 million UAH for Mercedes-Benz at the “EuroBLECH”.
