The Ministry of internal Affairs wants to increase the cost of driving permit and the registration services of cars.
This was reported by Vladislav Crickley, head of the Main service centre of the Ministry of internal Affairs of Ukraine.
According to him, now pricing “some things are frankly absurd”.
“For example, the exam for obtaining a driver’s license, which now costs 26 USD. We provide a vehicle that needs gas. I’m not talking about the depreciation costs that much more than 26 hryvnia … Driver’s license or car registration, is not just a right it is a privilege. It should not be very cheap, and certainly, it should not be paid by the state, because, as a rule, driver’s license and the vehicle registration gets not a poor man, ” said Crickley.
He noted that in Germany, for example, the exam is 700 euros.
“No, of course, Ukraine is not even thinking about such sky-high numbers, but at the same time 26 hryvnia – is also absurd. It’s not the money that the person will stop before poorly prepared or totally neglect the knowledge of traffic rules.
In Germany, for a retake you must pay 700 euros and in case of fail, you go again to study in driving school. The study at the driving school they cost about 1500 euros! So they have people really interested to learn efficiently, not by the document ” – said Crickley.
