In Ukraine it is expected a sharp rise in price of gasoline

The petrol price will rise in the fall.

The price of gasoline at Ukrainian filling stations will increase in the autumn as a result of increasing the dollar.

This was stated by Director of the PRIME group of companies Dmitry Leushkin.

“The April price increase was planned back in December when we adopted the budget for this year and to make changes to the Tax code, which raised the excise tax on fuel. The time came and the price went up. More reasons for the increase this year is not”, – explained Dmitry Leushkin.

Market expert reminds that the main drivers of the rise in prices for combustive-lubricating materials remain two factors: the cost of oil and the national currency. Sometimes the economic factors of growth of fuel prices at retail increase and political issues. The Ukrainian fuel market, this crisis has already experienced – when Russia by all means block the supply of fuel and lubricants in Ukraine.

“This year we a similar situation was observed with liquefied gas, in the past with diesel fuel. This created difficulties for Ukrainian importers, and they could not deliver fuel to Ukraine,” – says Laushkin.

According to him, the Russian provocations have not yielded results, and Ukrainian entrepreneurs quickly found new alternative sources of supply of fuels and lubricants in the country.

“Ukrainian businessmen have agreed on the supply of diesel fuel from Greece and India through the sea ports. The entrepreneurship of our businessmen actually saved the national market from shortages of fuel and artificial rise in prices,” he says.

However, under forecasts of the businessman, to avoid increasing the price of gasoline and diesel fuel in Ukraine this year will not succeed. The next jump in fuel prices in retail is expected this fall.

“The dollar definitely rise by year-end, and with it will go up and retail prices at filling stations. Why to rise? For the benefit of the state to raise the dollar by year-end and thus adjust the content of the state budget. Therefore, I expect higher prices for fuel and lubricants closer to the fall,” – said the expert.
