On the Ukrainian car market drivers “bred”.
On the Ukrainian market of used cars has intensified, a new fraudulent scheme. Its essence is that buyers “slip” broken, and even stolen cars under the guise of “clean”. And buy them quite legally abroad and cleared through customs in Ukraine.
This was told by the auto expert, the head of the Association of Troubleshooters Sergei Kramer.
What are trading scams certain brands of cars: Toyota Camry and Venza, Honda Accord, BMW X-5 and X-6. Problems on the machines appear to not significant at first glance, the discrepancies between the documents and the condition of the car.
“May not be the same as the vin number, accessories, elements of interior can be the wrong color, which is specified in documents, used other wood mats. All these data “I” in the vin-code car. The expert notes that, for example, the BMW X-5 and X-6 are among the most stolen cars in the world. Not far behind them and Toyota Camry. Therefore, it is very likely that these machines are either broken or stolen. And, if there is the slightest inconsistency between documentation and actual status of the car, to contact them just not worth it.
“Cars with such a “dirty” story in the last six months, we counted about 30,” says Kramer.
A dozen similar sales, according to the expert, was recorded with the cars that previously occupied the Donetsk and Lugansk registration. Which, however, was also re-registered to the new owner, despite the mismatch of the actual state data of the vin-code, or discrepancies in the documents.
“For example, recently sold the “right-hand” Mercedes-Benz E-class, although he was left-hand drive. Such cars had stood not only in Donetsk and Lugansk, but also had problems with cars in the former Ternopil registration. When buying such cars need to be doubly cautious and careful,” advises the expert.
