Ukraine in January-June 2017 reduced consumption of coal compared with the same period last year by 26.7% to 10.9 million tons, — said the press service of the Ministry of energy and coal industry.
According to the Ministry, compared with June last year, the coal consumption in June of the current year decreased by 30.5% to 1,754 million tonnes.

Earlier the Cabinet of Ministers were assured that, thanks to the provisional emergency measures in the energy sector from 17 February to 17 July 2017 was saved about 2.7 million tons of coal grade “A”. According to the government, this was achieved by increasing the load on hydropower, nuclear power plants and thermal power plants operating on gas group of coal.
