In Ukraine eliminated 40% of dumps

Ostap Semerak told about the progress of work.

In Ukraine eliminated about 40% of spontaneous dumps of garbage, reported by caring citizens.

So the Minister of ecology and natural resources Ostap Semerak on the page in Facebook commented on the year of operation of the interactive service, Ecocert.

According to him, during the year, more than 1,500 Ukrainians informed the Ministry about illegal dumps and their location.

“It is very important that the community have supported this service and came to the defense of the environment”, — said the Minister.

As said Semerak, local authorities gradually reduce the pace of such work.

“Meanwhile, from 1 January 2018 and shall enter into force one provision of the legislation, which obliges local authorities to recycle solid waste. Basically they are not ready yet. Although they have the appropriate authority, responsibility and, most importantly, money,” — said the Minister.
