In Ukraine forced to cancel the presentation of the documentary film “Motherland inside us” about Syrians who fled from the war in Syria and came to the warring Ukraine. This was stated by the Director of the film Elena Solodovnikova.
Solodovnikova said that she was threatened by a disgruntled film about Muslims.
“In connection with the threats began to arrive EN masse to me in private messages, we are forced to cancel the presentation of my dokfilm “the homeland is inside of us”. Some guys are not happy that Ukraine has made a film about Muslims”, – said Solodovnikov.
According to her, she decided to cancel the screening after the explosion with the Chairman and yesterday’s murder of the Amines AquaWay.
“Frankly I wouldn’t care about these intimidation, but in the context of the recent explosion near the canal of espresso and a shot of Amina Achuevo – not joking. I can’t endanger spectators. As you know the Kinopanorama is not equipped with metal detectors and security there is symbolic, so better safe than sorry. Did not think that Ukraine will carry out a campaign of intimidation surrounding the film about the Syrian refugees,” the Director writes.
She doesn’t know who is behind the threats, “the skinheads, neonationalist (normal followers natsidei such antics are not capable of) or Pro-Russian provocateurs.”
The Director is particularly disappointing that disrupted a fundraiser for children with cancer. She promises that the premiere of the film, which was supported by state Committee for cinematography will be held later in complete safety.
