Further global warming will lead to climate changes on the territory of Ukraine, which will allow for growing crops typical of the Mediterranean, such as bananas or pomegranates. This was told by Svetlana Krakow, climatologist, senior researcher of the Ukrainian hydrometeorological Institute, DHHS and the national Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, member of the intergovernmental panel on climate change (IPCC), candidate of physico-mathematical Sciences.

Most likely, and bananas can grow, if it goes on. At the same time, the expert noted that in this scenario, the ripening of the crops does not automatically mean that the fruits will be of high quality.

Krakowski also noted that global warming poses to Ukraine a threat to intensification of droughts.

The concentration of all pollution, runoff that enters the river will rise. Germs love the heat, they are much faster to reproduce.
