In Ukraine began to operate the new language quotas on the radio

The air must be at least 30% of Ukrainian music.

The norm of the law obliging radio stations to broadcast at least 30% of Ukrainian music, came into force.

As noted, the document provides for the introduction of a rule according to which the share of songs in the state language should be during the first year after the entry into force of law no less than 25%, the second 30% and third – 35% of the total time of the songs broadcast during the day, and over the time periods from 7:00 to 14:00 and from 15:00 to 22:00.

In addition, it is determined that the implementation of the broadcasting broadcaster, broadcasting musical works, including songs of the official languages of the European Union in accordance with the terms of the license, be at least 60% of the total amount of songs distributed throughout the day, including at least 60% of the total amount of songs distributed in each time period from 7:00 to 14:00 and from 15:00 to 22:00, must ensure that the proportion of songs in the state language not less than 25%.

Also, broadcasters in the implementation of broadcasting are obliged to ensure during the first year at least 50%, in the second – not less than 55%, and beginning with the third year not less than 60% of the daily total broadcast, including the information and analytical units, entertainment (speakers, presenters of programs) in the state language.

For failure to meet standards expected penalty of 5% of the total amount of the license fee.

The monitoring stations these requirements lies with the national Committee on television and radio.
