State enterprise “Ukrspirt” declined the announced purchase price increases on alcohol from 1 March to 8%.
The decision was taken on execution of Protocol Commission of the Ministry of agrarian policy press-service GP “Ukrspirt”. March increase was supposed to be the second one this year, in January, the state monopolist has already raised product prices by 10%.
As reported, the Minister of agrarian policy Taras Kutovoy expressed the fear that given the increase in excise duty, and additional cost growth other pricing elements, “the price increase, may negatively affect the vodka industry”.
According to the United trade Union of employees of agrarian and industrial complex of the SE “Ukrspirt” the shadow of vodka in Ukraine over the past year increased from 40% to 60%. Thus, the proposal of the shadow alcohol market was so high that the price has fallen from 60 to 35 UAH per liter, said the head of the United trade Union of employees of agrarian and industrial complex of the SE “Ukrspirt” Vitaly Sosnitsky.
The production of alcohol at the enterprises “Ukrspirt”, according to the unions, over the past few years has declined sharply. In 2010, production amounted to 23,844 million dal in 2011 -18,939 million decaliters, in 2014, 15.6 million decalitres of alcohol, in 2015 and 9.4 million given in 2016 and 8.4 million dal.
