In Ukraine, a scandal erupted involving OLX and Vkontakte

The site uses social network authorization is prohibited.

The popular classifieds site OLX was involved in a scandal because of banned in Ukraine the Russian social network “Vkontakte”.

Corresponding post published on his page in Facebook blogger and social activist Roman Pelekh, pay attention that on the main page are still available sign-in feature using the “VC.”

In fact, OLX is explained by the fact that a significant number of our users have used “EK” for authorization, and after the ban of the social network in Ukraine, “their share is still considerable”.

“As the use of “VC” for individuals (and our users and such) is not prohibited, we reserve the possibility of authorization through it, although we strongly recommend you to change email and social networks. At the same time is possible and authentication through Facebook”, – explained in the company.

The situation has caused heated discussion users of the social network. Some commentators assumed that the company just doesn’t want to lose customers from Russia. OLX also encouraged to exercise citizenship and to renounce “taboo” features. Others in turn pointed out that despite the ban, a lot of Ukrainians continue to use Russian social network.
