In Turkey archaeologists have discovered a funny artifact

In Turkey, archaeologists found a smiley face made in ancient jug

The most ancient smiley found a team of archaeologists from Turkey and Italy during the excavations in the city of Karkemish in the province of Gaziantep.

This year excavations were carried out on the territory of the necropolis in the territory of which the archaeologists found many ancient vases and pots. On one of the jars was found was a schematic drawing smiley faces.

Researchers estimate that the jug was made around 1700 years BC, he drank sherbet. Archaeologists find it difficult to say what purpose the symbol was painted on the pitcher and if he meant the same thing, what is it now.

The excavation of the necropolis began on 2 may 2017. Despite the civil war in Syria, which borders Gaziantep, Turkish archaeologists are doing everything possible to save the sculptures, mosaics and other artifacts of Karkamish intact.
