From heavy winds hit about 40 hectares of territory of the Carpathian biosphere reserve
Transcarpathian foresters began the assessment of the damages from the powerful hurricane destruction in the mountainous areas of the region in the evening of 17 September.
According to preliminary estimates, as a result of bad weather had fallen more than 300 hectares of forest. This was reported in the Transcarpathian regional administration of forestry and hunting.
“Only in Velikobagachkovsky and Jasinjanska the forests the storm knocked down more than 250 hectares of forest that need to be cleaned very often. Regarding the data in Tyachiv district, a heavy wind fallen almost 50 hectares of forest plantations, which are subjected to selective cutting. Three more forestry tabulating damaged areas of woodland,” – told UNN, the press-Secretary of the Transcarpathian regional administration of forestry and hunting Yulia Davydova.
Also in the Transcarpathian regional forestry reported that heavy winds hit about 40 hectares of territory of the Carpathian biosphere reserve.
