In the US, a child found the skull of an ancestor of the elephant that lived millions of years ago.
In the US, 10-year-old boy from new Mexico Jude sparks all of a sudden made a major archaeological discovery: during a country trip with his family the boy came across a skull of an ancestor of the elephant that lived on Earth millions of years ago.
As told reporters of the Fox News channel, the child, the fossils he found quite by accident when walking with his younger brothers. Jude tripped over the object, which he initially mistook for a cow skull.
Children called their parents, and they quickly realized that it probably is a much more valuable remains. The head of the family called the biology Professor from the University of new Mexico and spoke about the giant skull. Scientist, arrived on the scene, was amazed by the discovery.
“I think it’s only the second complete skull of stegomastodon found in our state,” said Professor of biology Peter haud.
According to him, we are talking about the remains of an ancestor of the elephant. And the fact that the skull and lower jaw were able to find in one area close to each other, gives hope that in the same area, scientists will be able to detect the skeleton as a whole.
