Co-authors of the document were made by the leader of the democratic minority in the lower house of Congress, Nancy Pelosi, her Deputy Steni Hoyer, and is also a senior member of the Committee on foreign Affairs, house of representatives, Congressman-Democrat Eliot Engel.
Previously, the Agency Bloomberg reported that the vote in the lower house on this document will be held on Tuesday, July 25.
As reported in June, the U.S. Senate overwhelmingly passed the bill S. 722 on the introduction of sanctions against Iran, which also included a section with widened sanctions against Russia. The procedure of its adoption in Congress was suspended by the constitutional requirement that all legislative initiatives that relate to the budget fulfillment, must be taken first in the lower then in the upper house.
The draft law includes the introduction of both individual and sectoral sanctions against Russia, as well as fixes existing restrictions against Russia, depriving the President the right to cancel their action without the approval of Congress.
