To visit the real insurgent sanctuary or sit in the kitchen, the UPA is now possible in the village of Antonivtsi in the Ternopil region. There was arranged a Museum of the open sky. It was created especially for the 75th anniversary of the founding of the UPA.

In 1946 in the forests near the village of Antonivtsi held one of the largest battles of the Ukrainian insurgent army against the NKVD. Then from the village where lived more than a thousand people, there were only three huts.
10 years ago the ASTC built a wooden house which became the Museum and headquarters of the UPA. But the shelter wasn’t here, so the activists decided to recreate the life of the UPA.
“I want to develop such a complex so that more tourists were attracted to and the kids could read the story. In addition, there will be able to conduct guided tours about the history of our region and this battle”,
— said the head of the Department of family and youth of Ternopil regional state administration Igor Black.
From the regional budget for the Museum under the open sky has allocated half a million hryvnia. In addition to shelter, bakeries and Konishi, there are also plans to improve the memory lane with the names of all the fallen soldiers and to lay a stone road to the tour buses could drive up to the complex.
