In Pakistan at least 20 people were killed and several were injured in a Sufi spiritual center, located in the province of Punjab.
The police said that the main suspect is the Dean of the center, Abdul Wahid. One of the surviving witnesses to the attacks told police that Wahid one by one invited the faithful to his chambers where he offered them the poisoned food. Then Wahid and his assistants killed the victims with sticks and daggers.
The alarm was raised the wounded woman managed to escape from the temple and get to the nearest hospital. The police immediately arrived at the temple and arrested Wahid and his alleged accomplices. The motives remain unclear, but the police do not exclude that Vahid was a madness, or murder connected with the struggle for control of the Shrine.
“50-year-old Abbot, Abdul Wahid admitted that he killed those people because he feared that they came to kill him”, – told reporters the police. To escape from punishment was only three.
