The assistant to the head of the State border service of Ukraine Oleg Slobodyan reported that according to put into effect the NSDC decision, the foreigner should submit fingerprints when crossing the Ukrainian border, but the presence of a biometric passport from them is not necessary.
“A foreigner who enters the territory of Ukraine, he needs to be fingerprinted. First and foremost, is the safety of the country, and second is his personal safety… Because we are talking only about what the foreigners will give us their biometric data, which we will continue to use, and they do not need to have biometrics or other kinds of passports”, – said the representative of state frontier service.
He stressed that for citizens of Russia is approved by a two-stage level control.
“They are, except that, as foreigners, will have to provide biometric data, and even will give advance notice about what is going in Ukraine, and submit minimum information about themselves,” – said Slobodyan.
According to him, before 1 January 2018 should be equipped with necessary equipment 157 key checkpoints and created a system must process more than one million queries per second, which is “a serious job”.
