The sea of Azov was on the verge of extinction fish.
Over the last decade the volume of fish catch has decreased in 2-4 times, and the number of species drastically decreased. This is evidenced by the State ecological Inspectorate (SEI) Ministry of environmental protection of Ukraine.
So, in the sea of Azov almost halved the volume of fishing pelengasa, three times – perch, four – plaice-Kalkan.
In addition, in 1991 in the sea of Azov, there were 17 species of industrial fish, and today there are only three anchovy, bullhead, and pelengas.
The main reason for the Inspectorate consider unsustainable management of fisheries and inappropriate protection of the living aquatic resources. Significant are the harms of poaching, which in recent years has reached alarming proportions, acquiring the hallmarks of organized crime.
According to environmentalists, at the moment the death of the Azov sea seems imminent due to the ongoing barbaric destruction of fish.
And more recently, fisheries seemed inexhaustible.
