Security forces detained the leader of movement novih forces Mikheil Saakashvili on suspicion of assisting members of the criminal organization and facilitating criminal activity. Reports a press about it-service SBU.
The policy was notified of the suspicion.
“December 5, 2017 employees of SBU together with the Prosecutor General’s office of Ukraine in the framework of criminal proceedings opened under part 1 of article 256 of the Criminal code of Ukraine (“the Assistance of members of the criminal organizations and concealment of their criminal activity”), was detained at his place of residence in Kiev Saakashvili”, – stated in the message.
In SBU added that Saakashvili was arrested in the presence of his lawyer. The next time a politician will be questioned.
The article prescribes punishment in the form of deprivation of liberty for a term of three to five years.
