The mayor of Kiev Vitali Klitschko along with the mayor of Kyoto Daisaku Kadokawa opened the first turn of the reconstructed Park of Kyoto in Desnyanskiy district of the capital.
As reported in the press service of Kyiv city mayor, mayors of sister cities have also laid the time capsule in the new Garden of stones and planted the cherry trees.
During the opening of the Klitschko reminded that the Park is Kyoto is one of the most beautiful and unique parks of Kiev. It was founded in 1972 as a sign of friendly relations between Kiev and the cultural capital of Japan — Kyoto, immediately after the signing of the agreement on cooperation and development between the cities.
According to Klitschko, last year during his visit to Kyoto Ukrainian and Japanese sides have agreed on more effective cooperation of the twin cities, including to update the Park.
The project of reconstruction of Park of Kyoto in Kyiv developed with the participation of one of the leading designers of traditional Japanese parks — Shiro the nakan.
In particular, Klitschko said today opened rock Garden of his authorship — dry lake, stone bridges, decorative lighting and decorative plants adapted to the climate of Kiev.
