In the new Jerusalem clashes: more than a hundred injured

The violence resumed after two weeks of protests disrupted the attempt of Israel to introduce security screening at the entrance to the temple mount.

Local physicians reported that more than 120 people were injured in clashes in the historic centre of Jerusalem.

Recall, Israel decided to remove the metal detectors from the entrances to the temple mount in Jerusalem, which provoked mass protests. The Muslim religious leaders demanded the Israeli government to fully withdraw from the idea of the use of any means of control at the entrances to the Shrine. Despite the statements of the spiritual leaders of the Palestinians that the conflict is settled, clashes resumed on July 27.

“Employees of the red Crescent in Jerusalem assisted the 124 patients. Most of them were injured from rubber bullets and gas”, − said the representative of the organization IRAB al-Fuqaha.

According to police, the conflict started when out of the crowd of the faithful on the Temple mount they threw stones, some of which fell on the square near the wailing Wall − Jewish religious shrines.

“Placed there the police squeezed the protesters out of the compound and scattered them with use of means of restraint”, − told in law enforcement bodies of Israel.

According to them, at the wailing Wall no one was injured in the clashes police officer was injured, receiving a blow on the head with rocks.

The police noted that, despite the unrest, has allowed thousands of Muslims gather for evening prayer on the Temple mount.

During the protests against the security measures imposed on the Temple mount, killed five Palestinians, including four last Friday, July 21.
