Arab countries proposed the stabilization of relations in exchange for the release by Israel of the territories captured in 1967. In these territories, the League of Arab States proposed to create an independent state of Palestine.
The proposal is contained in the final Declaration of the Arab summit on 29 March in Amman, brought together leaders of 21 States. They also called on all countries not to transfer its Embassy to East Jerusalem, which the Palestinians wish to make their capital.
Thus, Arab leaders are actually again offered Israel a peace plan on the basis of “two States for two peoples”, launched in 2002.
Israeli Minister of intelligence of Israel Katz responded to the statement of the Arab world’s promise that the Palestinian question will not be ignored. At the same time, he urged Arab leaders to worry more about the “strategic regional challenges”, in particular about wars in Syria, Iraq, Yemen and Libya.
Katz noted that the joint overcoming these problems and to improve the conditions of Palestinians may “lay the Foundation” for progress.
